Capsize Screening formula (CSF) was arguably developed to provide a rough estimate of stability using only displacement and beam.
However, as Capsize Screening formula (CSF) does not account for Comfort Ratio, or specifically Length in Waterline, Draft, or absolute Displacement, a 2 feet radio controlled toy boat can, using the formula, be deemed more seaworthy than a 120 feet sailing yacht. (Indeed, using a CSF of 2.00 as the cut-off, a toy boat with a 1 foot beam and a displacement of 10 pounds (lb) which thus has a CSF of 1.86, is consequently rated as an offshore boat)
